Amtrak Adds Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi on more Amtrak trains benefits business travelers.
Amtrak has installed free Wi-Fi service, called AmtrakConnect, on Amtrak Cascades trains in the Pacific Northwest, and it plans to add the service on Northeast Corridor routes and more West Coast trains by the end of the year. The service had already been available on Acela Express routes. Amtrak also constructed a dedicated wireless network that now delivers connectivity in New York tunnels and New York’s Penn Station terminal. Future enhancements include en route entertainment options, real-time train position information and 4G bandwidth technologies.
