Copenhagen Hotel Offers Meals for Exercise
The phrase "working for your supper" has taken on new meaning at the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers in Denmark. The new, 366-room property, which bills itself as one of the world's greenest hotels, has installed electricity-producing stationary bicycles in its gym for guest use. Anyone who produces 10 watt-hours or more of electricity for the hotel is rewarded with a complimentary meal. Guests who use the electric bikes can monitor how much electricity they produce via iPhones mounted on the handlebars. The electric-bike initiative will run through next April, and if it's successful, it will be expanded to all Crowne Plaza hotels in the U.K.
