Denver Airport Plans New Development
Denver International Airport plans to redevelop the area south of Jeppesen Terminal to include a new Westin Hotel, as well as a rail station and a rail line that will connect DIA with downtown Denver’s Union Station. The redesign also will make the Great Hall under the airport s giant, tentlike ceiling a secure area, which will enable connecting passengers to take the train to the terminal to eat and shop without having to be rescreened by security. Currently, all visitors to Jeppesen, including to the Great Hall, do not have to be screened. Construction for the project could top $1 billion and will take at least seven years to complete.
