Emerging Offbeat Vacation Destinations

Asian and Latin locations head the list of up and coming luxury travel destinations in 2010, according to a Virtuoso Luxe Report. India, Vietnam and Cuba are the top emerging destinations for high end travelers, followed by the Galapagos Islands, China and Chile. The three main factors ranked by Virtuoso travel agencies as influencing upscale vacation choices include: seeking authentic experiences, rest and relaxation, and reconnecting with loved ones. Also according to the report, the five most popular international destinations for travelers in 2010 are Italy, Mexico, South Africa, Australia and France. The top five U.S. destinations where Virtuoso agents expected to send travelers are Maui, Alaska, New York City, Napa Valley/Sonoma and Las Vegas.
