Hertz Expands Off-Airport Locations
You may have noticed more Hertz locations at off-airport sites in the suburbs. The company says that it opened 81 new off-airport and 52 Hertz Local Edition rental-car facilities in dozens of towns across the U.S during the first quarter of 2008, as part of a company-wide strategy to expand into suburban markets. Hertz Local Edition facilities have opened in such locales as Sedona, Ariz.; Bowling Green and Owensboro, Ky.; Lima, Springfield and Johnstown, Ohio; Waco and Abilene, Tex.; Stillwater, Okla.; and Flemington and Egg Harbor, N.J. “The off-airport market is growing faster than the airport market and represents more than 10 percent of Hertz’s revenues,” notes Mark P. Frissora, chairman and CEO of the Hertz Corporation.
