Hertz to Offer Electric Rental Cars
Eco-friendly cars are expected to hit rental markets by early 2011.
Hertz has teamed up with Nissan to bring the Nissan Leaf—an electric, zero-emission car—to rental markets in the U.S. and Europe by early 2011. Designed specifically for a lithium-ion battery-powered chassis, the medium-size hatchback seats five adults and has a range of about 100 miles. The car goes on sale in Japan, the U.S. and Europe in late 2010.
