Hotels Increase Social Media Presence
A Trip Advisor survey finds a growing number of hotels using social media.
Hoteliers are jumping on the social media bandwagon. A recent TripAdvisor survey found that 57 percent of accommodations owners (hoteliers, B&Bs and innkeepers) expect their social media marketing budgets to increase this year over last year. Almost a third of survey respondents planned to launch mobile marketing programs for the first time in 2011, and another 27 percent said they had offered such programs last year and will continue to do so this year. Meanwhile, virtually all owners surveyed (99 percent) planned to respond to online guest reviews; 72 percent said they will respond to both positive and negative reviews.
