How to Meet Other CEOs During Layovers
New site links up executives-in-waiting
Time is money—the old adage becomes painfully obvious when you’re trapped in an airport. But plenty of other businesspeople are in the same boat, and now you may be able to network with them during your transit time. At CEOcial.com, registered users post their layover details, including the airport, flight date and number, and the time frame during which they will be available. They can request a connection with another member by checking the Request Networking box; and they can also post profiles and add notes about themselves and their layovers. Site creator Anthony Craig thought up the idea the last time a flight connection left him with several hours of nothing to do at the airport. “Looking around the waiting areas, I couldn’t help but notice all the business–men and women impatiently watching the clock tick by,” Craig says. “That’s when the idea to get these professionals together struck.” “Meeting like-minded business travelers” is a much better spin than “misery loves company.”
