Museums seek collectibles from the defunct airline.

Ah, nostalgia. Northwest Airlines, the carrier absorbed by Delta Air Lines in 2008-09, is now being regarded with some fondness. Though it had earned the unfortunate nickname “Northworst Airlines,” the carrier’s memorabilia are suddenly in demand. Collectors are selling items on eBay, and two museums are seeking the (tax-deductible) donation of Northwest items, such as uniforms, meal service items, airplane models, print ads, timetables, onboard magazines—even annual reports. The Delta Heritage Museum in Atlanta and the NWA History Centre in Bloomington, Minn., have posted pleas for Northwest items on their websites. Items that pre-date the 1980s are said to be the most valuable. Northwest was founded in 1926.
