Virgin America Expands to More Airports
Low-cost carrier Virgin America (virginamerica.com) plans to compete head-to-head for business travelers against United and American when it launches four daily flights from San Francisco and Los Angeles to Chicago’s O’Hare in November (subject to government approval). Virgin planes include eight first-class seats with a 55-inch pitch, built-in massage function and adapter-free 110V electrical outlets at every seat, plus USB and Ethernet plugs. The entertainment system enables all passengers to order food and drinks from their seats via touch-screen TVs.
