Yotel Comes to New York

Its small hotel rooms are still bigger than some Manhattan apartments, perfect for budget travelers.

Attention, budget travelers: Yotel (yotel.com), which offers rooms inspired by first-class airline cabins, is coming to the States. A 669-cabin Yotel will launch in New York's Times Square in 2011, part of a 1.2 million-square-foot, 60-story LEED-silver-rated development that will also include residential units and an off-Broadway theater complex. Yotels are already operating in London's Heathrow and Gatwick Airports and in Amsterdam's Schiphol; the flagship Yotel property in the U.S. will be full-service, featuring a restaurant, bar, meeting rooms, a Club Lounge and a large outdoor terrace. Guests will stay in 170-square-foot private spaces with luxury bedding, monsoon rain showers, mood lighting, flat-screen TVs and complimentary Wi-Fi.
