New desktop program lets AA customers seek out the fares they want
American Airlines has a new automated feature that lets customers specify their desired fare level for a specific trip, then will alert them if and when that fare becomes available. The new product, called Dealfinder (www.aa.com/dealfinder), is a downloadable program that users can install in their computers. “Simply enter where you want to go, how much you’d like to spend, your travel dates, and how many people will be traveling,” American said. “Dealfinder will let you know what the current lowest fare is and then keep checking for your fare.” If it finds it, it will send an instant alert to your computer. American did not say what Dealfinder would do if it finds a fare lower than the one you requested – give you the lower one, or only the one you asked for. The program works with fares on all American and American Eagle flights worldwide, American said.
