BA moves more flights to LHR Terminal 5
Airline will shift some U.S. flights in June
British Airways said it has set June 5 for the resumption of transfers of its long-haul flight operations at London Heathrow from Terminal 4 to Terminal 5. BA had suspended the shift of flights temporarily until it could rectify the problems that had plagued the huge new terminal since its March opening, leading to numerous flight delays and cancellations as well as thousands of lost bags. Now BA says it will transfer its New York JFK flights as well as its Phoenix flights from T4 to T5 on June 5, as well as long-haul services including Beijing, Cairo, Cape Town and Lagos. The airline is already using T5 for its flights to and from Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco, Vancouver, Tokyo, Johannesburg and Hong Kong. Until further notice, BA said, it will continue to use T4 for Newark, Baltimore/Washington, Boston, Seattle, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver and Washington Dulles flights.
