Blue carpet service
Delta rolls out elite boarding lanes
Delta Air Lines said it has completed nationwide deployment of “Breezeway” – a project that provides dedicated boarding lanes at every airport gate for the airline’s elite customers. The special lanes, characterized by red signs and a blue carpet, allow any-time boarding for Delta first class and business class passengers; SkyMiles Silver, Gold and Platinum Medallion members; SkyTeam Elite and SkyTeam Elite Plus customers. Early in 2008, Delta said, it will expand the Breezeway boarding lanes to airports in Canada, the Caribbean, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and to airports served only by Delta Connection partners. Delta has also started a new feature for non-frequent flyers – a series of 25 humorous videos intended to educate them about proper in-flight etiquette and behavior. The videos try to remind occasional travelers to consider the impact of their actions on other passengers – like not pushing the back of every seat as you grasp for handholds down the aisle on your way to the bathroom.
