Firm offers current flight status updates for 141 airlines

A Houston-based company called 1-800-Flights has unveiled a new service for travelers – continuously updated flight status information from 141 domestic and international airlines serving the U.S., covering scheduled departures at 432 U.S. airports and 173 international airports. The service uses information provided by FlightStats. Callers to the 1-800-FLIGHTS number (800-354-4487) can use interactive voice response technology to find out if their flight is operating on time. There’s no cost to use the service, but while the system is looking up your data, you get to listen to an ad. The company also has a web site with the same data, at www.1800flights.net.
