Delta's revenue enhancers

Delta boosts fees for several passenger services

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Delta Air Lines has quietly (i.e., without formally announcing it) increased charges for several passenger procedures, including reservations changes. Switching to a different travel date or to a different city now costs $75, up from $50; changing your booking to a different flight on the same day now incurs a $50 fee, up from $25. The fee for booking by phone went from $10 to $20, and the cost of booking a SkyMiles award ticket within 20 days of departure went from $50 to $75 – as did the fee for re-depositing unused miles in your SkyMiles account. The newspaper said that Delta’s main competitor at Atlanta, Air Tran Airways, plans to increase its ticket change fee from $60 to $75 on October 1.
