70% of all air travelers are men. Why, then, have airlines not done anything about the toilet seats that simply cannot stay up, slamming down at the most inopportune times?? Men know what I'm talking about here... definitely takes two hands in most aircraft toilets.

Well I for one have a problem with most regional jets and some larger ones. I am 6'1'' and 200lbs. Most seats appear to be designed for people no taller than 5', so the area designed for 5' tall people to rest their head is right in the middle of my upper back thus most regional flights are actually painful. Another problem is lap space. Heck I stepped down to a 12" laptop screen so I could do some work on the plane, but with the seat spacing being what it is, even if the person in front of me doesn't recline, there is just no room to even open a small laptop. All the while United and American are bragging about more leg room, most of us are in pain and can't work. It's just nuts... especially as a frequent flyer paying highest rates due to constant last minute meetings.

Where to begin,, getting to the airport, the Airport synonym for "Stand in Line", boarding- the dangers of a bag dropped on your head or having to help a
fellow passenger heft a 50LB bag over your head is most likely to happen.. the seats are designed to crunch your neck forward and then they give you a pillow to further push your head out of line to your body, the seats are so close together you don't have room to plug in the head phones, the air is dirty and to my guess dangerous, the attendants are rude and condescending. Landing equals "standing in line",, and when the whole thing is over, your luggage could have been picked up by anyone as the careful process of tagging and entering your luggage on the airline roster,,, is not used when passengers pick up luggage at their destination. Why bother tagging the luggage w/ a bar code identifier and then letting anyone pick up bags and leave the airport. How many "lost" bags are really stolen? Air travel has not progressed since the '60's. Even buying groceries has progressed past the antiquated methods of air travel. What used to be the greatest excitement and pleasure is NOT today. |
