25% of Londoners born abroad

Explorer London Residents' Guide - Executive Travel Magazine

Approximately half of the estimated 4.3 million people living in Britain reside in the country’s capital, London. Figures reflect that 25% of Londoners are actually born outside of the UK*. With such a high proportion of new residents, leading publishers Explorer Publishing have recently released their new London Residents’ Guide.

Alistair MacKenzie, Publisher, Explorer Publishing, comments: “London’s population is a wonderful plethora of many nationalities and cultures. Settling in to a new environment is not an easy task, and seeking the right information can be extremely challenging. Our London Residents’ Guide stands apart from your typical travel guide as its comprehensive contents includes essential information for those residing in the city as apposed to those paying a flying visit.”

Written by residents, for residents, the London Residents’ Guide contains a wealth of insider information. From finding work, arranging visa applications, education, health care and accommodation, to where to find the best shopping, the newest bars, most interesting restaurants and ideas for exploring.

Established in Dubai in 1995, Explorer is run by a team of expats, who know how it feels to leave comfort and familiarity in search of new adventures. With over 12 years of experience, they know just what information new arrivals want and need to know, to help them embark on a new life. They currently cover 12 popular expat destinations, including the GCC, Singapore, Hong Kong, New York and Sydney.

Aviva Athletics Grand Prix - Fri 25 & Sat 26 July - Crystal Palace

Still the highlight of the summer calendar, athletics’ fans will this year be treated to twice as much talent as the London Grand Prix is held over two days and the world’s best athletes will not waste the opportunity to lay down a marker ahead of Beijing. Records and Crystal Palace are synonymous - the Russian pole-vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva has twice set a world record and in 2005 became the first woman to ever clear 5m, while American shot putter Reese Hoffa recorded the furthest throw of 2007 with 22.43m at last year’s event.

Send off the team to Beijing with a London roar in their ears!
