Frontier network adds eight cities
Frontier unveils regional expansion plan
Denver-based Frontier Airlines has revealed plans for a significant expansion of regional flying this spring and summer by its Frontier Express (Republic Air) and Lynx Aviation affiliates. Republic flies regional jets and the new Lynx subsidiary uses Q400 turboprops. The two will add eight new destinations from Frontier’s Denver hub. Among the new Lynx routes are Aspen, Colo. (five flights a day starting May 15); Colorado Springs, Colo. (five a day starting April 15); Durango, Colo. (three a day effective May 15); Grand Junction, Colo. (four a day as of May 15) and Jackson Hole, Wyo. (three flights a day starting May 15) Republic will begin twice-daily service on May 12 to Fargo, N.D., and the two airlines will share duties on three new flights a day starting May 22 to Bozeman, Mont., and three a day effective May 16 to Missoula, Mont. Meanwhile, Frontier said it will expand mainline operations this spring and summer on several routes. By July 1, for instance, it will increase its Denver-Seattle schedule from three flights a day to six. It will also add a fifth daily flight to Minneapolis/St. Paul, a sixth to San Francisco, a third to LaGuardia, a fourth to Detroit and a fourth to Nashville, among others, and will inaugurate daily seasonal service from Denver to Vancouver and Anchorage.
