Detroit Metro adds charging stations for electronic devices
Travelers using Detroit Metro Airport’s Smith Terminal who need to charge up their cell phones or laptops can do so at no cost by using the airport’s new “Laptop Pitstop” stations. There’s one near Spirit gates C-7/9/11; another is near the main level restrooms behind the check-in counters; and others are on Concourses A and B. According to a spokesman, the airport management converted former pay telephone banks into charging stations, since few travelers are using public phones these days. Each area has a seat, a shelf and four electric outlets. Look for the “Laptop Pitstop” signs.
