The good news: You’ll love Philadelphia. The bad news: Getting in and out can be painful, thanks to the much beleaguered and reviled Philadelphia International Airport, which has some of the worst delays and baggage-handling in the country. To make your trip easier, check only what you absolutely have to—preferably nothing. Try to fly in and out as early in the day as possible. You’ll probably avoid delays if your flight is in the morning, but they’re almost guaranteed if you schedule an afternoon or early evening flight. The airport has plans to expand and improve, but Philadelphians aren’t holding their breath, and neither should you.
Waiting around Food options at the airport are pretty horrible. Bring food from outside, or buy on the plane. If you’re meeting clients, head to the adjoining Marriott.
