Travelers with text-messaging capability on mobile devices can send a text to Google and retrieve free flight status information within seconds. The service covers flights departing or arriving in the U.S. Users can track flight status by sending a text message to 466453 (that’s numeral-speak for “Google”) containing the airline name or abbreviation. Google’s SMS (Short Messaging Service) tool is in partnership with Flightstats.com. Standard messaging costs apply.
