New web sites alerts travelers to entry rules, health info and more

The International Air Transport Association, a trade group of the world’s major airlines, has opened up a new consumer web site designed to inform frequent international travelers about visa requirements, passport rules, health regulations, and all kinds of other restrictions and laws that affect travelers form one country to another – e.g., how much airport tax you’ll be charged upon departure, how much currency you can bring into a country, even rules about bringing in pets. The site is at www.iatatravelcentre.com. For an introductory rate of $15 a year, you can sign up for a premium membership that lets you store a personal profile, get alerts about rule changes from various countries, get notification about expiration dates coming up for your visas and other documents, and so on.
