New web sites alerts travelers to entry rules, health info and more

The International Air Transport Association, a trade group of the world’s major airlines, has opened up a new consumer web site designed to inform frequent international travelers about visa requirements, passport rules, health regulations, and all kinds of other restrictions and laws that affect travelers form one country to another – e.g., how much airport tax you’ll be charged upon departure, how much currency you can bring into a country, even rules about bringing in pets. The site is at www.iatatravelcentre.com. For an introductory rate of $15 a year, you can sign up for a premium membership that lets you store a personal profile, get alerts about rule changes from various countries, get notification about expiration dates coming up for your visas and other documents, and so on.

Could you let me know what are the Rules & Regulations regarding the early deaprture of a hotel. for exemple, if I book 4 nights but decide to leave the hotel after two nights, can the hotel charge me for the full stay or only one night?
Would you have any IATA rules to send me in order to know.

Thanks and regards

Chris Dainville

Can you explain why Airlines can arbitrarily over ride the Host country's rule on how much time needs to remain on a passport to travel to their country. My husband wishes to travel with me to Costa Rica on March24th for 1 week .Costa Rica requires only 30 days from the date of entry to remain on the passport before it's expiry. In my case, Air Transat of Canada said they would deny boarding to my Husband because he does not have 6 months remaining on his passport ,which according to them is the I.A.T.A. regulation. It seems to me that this is a contrevention of the public rights...Passports are valid for 5 years, but according to the Airlines only for 4.5 years, plus the host countries rules are thwarted as are Passport CAnada's rules.
Thank you for allowing me to express my views.
