Indian carrier enters mileage pact with American
Members of American Airlines’ AAdvantage program can now earn miles and claim award flights on Jet Airways, an Indian airline that flies to Delhi from Newark and New York JFK via Brussels. As part of a code-sharing agreement between the two that took effect last week, American will put its code on Jet Airways flights beyond Delhi to select cities in India, and Jet’s code will go onto some American flights out of JFK. “In addition, American and Jet Airways will code-share and cooperate on traffic between the United States and India that connects at Brussels Airport,” a spokesman said. American flies non-stop from its Chicago O’Hare hub to Delhi.
