JetBlue Airways, which last winter started testing free in-flight Internet service for customers on one of its A320s, is expanding the variety of services available. Initially, it could only be used for Yahoo! Accounts via laptops and BlackBerrys. Now, JetBlue said, customers can use their devices to access “a more diverse email and massaging platform open to both Microsoft Exchange corporate email accounts and leading web mail providers such as Gmail, AOL Mail, Hotmail and Windows Live Mail. Another new service available through the plane’s WiFi system is a new “simple yet extensive search and discover option from Amazon.com” for in-flight shopping, the airline said. The expanded services are also offered at no charge. BetaBlue, the aircraft on which the Internet access is being tested, is generally used on JetBlue’s transcontinental routes.
