JetBlue trims transcontinental routes
Flights from JFK, IAD and BOS affected
Among the many airline schedule cutbacks coming in the weeks ahead, JetBlue Airways plans to discontinue a number of transcontinental routes, according to media reports. In announcing its quarterly results, JetBlue said that on September 3, it will stop flying at Ontario, Calif.; it currently offers daily non-stops between Ontario and New York JFK. The airline also reportedly plans to end three transcontinental routes out of Washington Dulles on September 3: IAD-Las Vegas, IAD-San Diego and IAD-Burbank, Calif. Meanwhile, the Boston Globe is reporting that JetBlue will end its non-stop Boston-San Francisco service September 3 and its Boston-San Jose flights September 16.
