ExecFlyer New Orleans again! 0 Sep 9 2007, 2:42 PM EDT by ExecFlyer

We had such a good time in New Orleans in Feb that we just decided to book another long weekend in November. The people are wonderful, the food, drink and music are like no where else... it's the perfect short escape. The french quarter is in tact and it feels great to contribute to the local economy. Even better when it's booked free with Delta miles and Hilton points... lets us spend even more in local establishments!!

Chautauqua embraces families! Toddlers, teens, parents and grandparents play and pray while they study and experience the arts in a beautiful lakeside setting. Parents can golf or swim or go to a lecture while children play in the safety of a creative day camp. From age 3 at Children's School through high school at Boys' and Girls' Club, special activities for college students and classes for all ages, create a unique family vacation. For further information you can review the program brochure located at: http://www.athenaeum-hotel.com/

Anonymous Springtime in Savannah 0 Mar 24 2007, 1:02 PM EDT by Anonymous

I'd recommend my hometown as a long-weekend escape for folks living on the East Coast and on over to Atlanta. A direct flight from LaGuardia, Atlanta or Charlotte, Savannah, GA is balmy and blooming during the spring. The City provides entertainment but can also serve as a quiet getaway. Take a tour of our historic district, have a good meal and hear some music. Or, snooze over a book in a sunny garden and wander shady squares. Savannah is a wonderful weekend (or weeklong) escape in either spring or fall. There are lots of new hotels in the historic district, so plenty of nice places to stay.

Leftofthedial So Close, Yet So far 0 Mar 15 2007, 12:22 PM EDT by Leftofthedial

A terrific summer long weekend to escape the maddening crowds of New York is to head to Shelter Island on the East End of Long Island. While is sits right next to the trendy and crowded Hamptons scene, the 3 minute ferry ride required to get on the Island makes it a world away. Once there you will be forced to slow down to the pace of the locals, many who descended from countless generations of residents. Stay at the tres chic Sunset Beach Resort and have the beach right across the street or chose something a little more traditional like the historic Chequit Inn in the old harbor town of Shelter Island Heights. A recent spat of new restaurants has reinvigorated the dining scene on the Island. Other fun activities include biking through the islands relatively empty roads. You will quickly forget the worries of your job once you get on the ferry and leave the rest of the world behind.

Just about 3 hrs from NYC is the quaint and exciting city of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Nestled between strip malls and Outlets are Amish farms, cows, silos of corn, horse drawn carriages and home made quilts and jams. The air is fresh, shops are plentiful and fresh foods are easily available if 'family style' eating is to your liking. Using Petswelcome.com we've been able to locate a hotel in Lancaster which allows us to bring our doggie with us. A good time for all.
