Lufthansa adds in-seat video screens to long-haul economy cabins
Lufthansa said it has started testing a new in-flight entertainment system that provides individual seat-back screens in economy class on its long-haul routes, with a view to expanding the feature system-wide. The test is currently under way on Lufthansa flights between Frankfurt and Detroit,Detroit, Houston and Toronto. The test will weigh two options for menu navigation: using a touch-screen system or a handheld control built into the armrest. Once the in-flights surveys are completed and a menu navigation method is picked, the newly equipped economy cabins should start to appear in November of this year, Lufthansa said.
