Marriott Rewards ends blackouts
Also unveils other member enhancements
The Marriott Rewards hotel loyalty program is marking its 25th anniversary by announcing new perks for members, including an end to blackout dates. Starting January 15, 2009, program members will be able to redeem points for free stays every day of the year, the company said. Marriott also announced other new enhancements to the program, including a free fifth night every time a member redeems points for a four-night stay; and an increase in Platinum-level members’ bonus points from the current 30 percent to 50 percent of the total points earned during their stay. For details on the changes to the Marriott program, go to www.marriott.com/rewards/no-blackout-dates. The Marriott Rewards program lets members earn and spend points at 2,900 hotels in the Marriott family, including Marriott Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard, Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn, TownePlace Suites and SpringHill Suites.
