Cleveland’s airport will get a new Airmall retail development
Flyers at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport can expect to see a broad new range of dining and shopping options in the months ahead. The City of Cleveland last week awarded a 10-year concessions contract for the airport to BAA USA, an affiliate of the British-based airport operating company. BAA USA designed and created the Airmall concept at the Pittsburgh, Boston and Baltimore/Washington airports, and plans to bring it to Cleveland as well. The concept calls for a broad range of airport concessions that include “a strategic mix of high-quality national and international brands” with “high-quality regional/local brands that inject local flavor,” BAA USA said. The company’s Airmall concept also pledges that its stores and restaurants will charge the same prices that customers would find at any other local mall. BAA USA’s contract to assume operations of CLE’s concessions takes effect von April 1.
