NEXUS Program for USA-Canada Border Crossing
The NEXUS program lets frequent USA-Canada border travelers apply in advance to be sped through the border.
Once you apply for and receive a NEXUS card, you generally will be able to just scan your ID and be able to proceed through the border - with no wait.
This is perfect for anyone who travels between the USA and Canada more than a couple of times a year.

Once you apply for and receive a NEXUS card, you generally will be able to just scan your ID and be able to proceed through the border - with no wait.
This is perfect for anyone who travels between the USA and Canada more than a couple of times a year.
Information about the program:
- You can apply online to be admitted to the program.
- The application form is lengthy - ~20-30 minutes.
- It costs ~$50 USD / $50 CDN to use the program
- Full information is at http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/trusted_traveler/nexus_prog/
Important restrictions:
- Everyone in your travel party must have a NEXUS card. I.e. if you are traveling with husband/wife/kids, each one must have a NEXUS card or else you must take the 'slow lane'
- It may take several months to get an interview appointment. Plan ahead!
Questions?
- Ben on this site uses NEXUS, you can try asking him questions by sending him a message.
