New business class on Delta 767s

Beginning in spring 2009, Delta Air Lines will introduce a fully flat bed in its BusinessElite class on B767-400 aircraft used for international flights.

The first 767 will have 40 of the new seats, which recline to 77-inch-long beds in a one-two-one configuration, giving each premium-class passenger direct aisle access.

BusinessElite passengers will also enjoy a full-size pillow, a quilted duvet, new dinnerware, a digital entertainment system with a 10.6-inch screen, PC power and a USB port, oversized consoles and shoe storage.

Delta is also taking delivery of B777 long-range aircraft that feature the “Solar Elite Full Flat Suite,” with seats that recline to 75-inch-long beds. The carrier will use the jets for ultra-long-haul routes, such as New York–Mumbai.

And finally, Delta is reconfiguring its new fleet of B757 aircraft with a cradle recliner-style seat for BusinessElite customers flying between New York’s JFK and destinations including Brussels, Edinburgh, London (Gatwick), Manchester and Paris (Orly). The first new seats will be installed this summer and will offer 55 inches of pitch and 14 inches of recline in a two-by-two configuration.
