New take-out market debuts at DFW

Z Market concept will expand to other airports

Airport concessionaire HMS Host has cut the ribbon on a new kind of take-out food venue that it says it will expand to other U.S. airports in the months ahead. Called Z Market, the prototype location is in Terminal B at Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport. The facility is designed to provide customers with upscale take-out offerings – in this case, including a “Gourmet to Go” menu put together by Chef Tim Love, proprietor of the Lonesome Dove Western Bistro in Fort Worth – as well as speed and convenience. The market has wide aisles to accommodate travelers pulling a carry-on bag, and a number of self-service stations where customers can pick up coffee, pastries, fountain beverages, freshly grilled items and more. HMS Host calls Z Market “the perfect combination of convenience store and upscale deli.”
