Oneworld expands

Dragonair joins the Oneworld alliance

Hong Kong-based Dragonair, which was acquired last year by Cathay Pacific, last week officially became a member of Cathay’s Oneworld global alliance. Other Oneworld members include American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, Iberia, LAN, Qantas and Japan Airlines. Dragonair operates more than 400 flights a week from Hong Kong to 19 destinations in mainland China, as well as various destinations in Japan, Taiwan, Cambodia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Thailand and Korea. Frequent flyer members from other Oneworld airlines can now earn and redeem mileage on Dragonair. Although it is owned by Cathay, Dragonair has kept its own brand identity and code (KA).
