New York airport adds free charging stations
The New York-New Jersey Port Authority said it has installed a dozen “Power Poles” in the Central Terminal at LaGuardia Airport, providing flyers with a convenient place to recharge electronic devices. There is no cost to use the recharging stations, which are all located beyond the security checkpoints. Each eight-foot-tall Power Pole has four electric outlets. The new amenity is a continuation of a program the Port Authority initiated at Kennedy Airport two years ago – an initiative that has proved “tremendously popular” with JFK passengers, the agency said. The Port Authority said it plans to expand the Power Pole deployment to Newark Airport in the months to come.
