Qantas readies LAX operation for A380 flights
Shifts some flights to Bradley Terminal
With its first Airbus super-jumbo A380 scheduled to begin flying to Los Angeles on October 20, Qantas has announced plans for some terminal changes in its operations at LAX. All A380 flights will use the Tom Bradley International Terminal, Qantas said. Effective October 1, all Qantas non-stops to and from Sydney, Melbourne and New York will arrive and depart from the Bradley terminal. Flights to and from Brisbane and Auckland/Melbourne will use Terminal 4 for arrivals and departures. Passengers who fly into Terminal 4 – like American code-share and connecting passengers – who are continuing to Sydney or Melbourne can get to the Bradley terminal via a free special shuttle operating from Gate 44. The shuttle, for the exclusive use of same-day Qantas connecting flyers, eliminates the need to go through security again; it will operate daily from 4 p.m. to midnight. Other connections can use the inter-terminal buses, Qantas said.
