Registered Traveler to Washington, Oakland
Registered Traveler adds three more airports
Verified Identity Pass’s Clear program has been selected as the operator of Registered Traveler security lanes at three more airports: Washington D.C.’s Dulles and Reagan National, and Oakland International in California. Participants will pay $128 a year to join the program, which requires a background check; the benefits include a biometric ID for quick clearance and an express security lane at all airports in the program (currently a dozen nationwide). In Washington, some 2,000 travelers have already signed up, and the program should be operational at the city’s two airports in the spring. Officials in Oakland said Clear registration kiosks should be deployed in February. With the addition of Oakland, all three major San Francisco-area airports – including San Francisco International and San Jose – will have Registered Traveler security lanes.
