Becomes associate member of global alliance
Romanian airline Tarom has become an associate member of the global SkyTeam alliance, which includes Delta, Northwest, Continental, Air France/KLM, Korean Air and others. “Passengers traveling on Tarom flights will have access to the same benefits offered by the 11 SkyTeam member airlines and three current associate airlines,” a spokesman said, such as coordinated frequent flyer programs and access to airport lounges. Tarom has a fleet of 21 aircraft; it flies to 40 destinations in 25 countries, mainly in Europe. Other SkyTeam associate members include Air Europa, Copa Airlines and Kenya Airways.
