LHR, LGW offer private accommodations
Mini-hotel rooms under the brand “Yotel” are now available for rent at London’s Gatwick (South Terminal) and Heathrow (Terminal 4) Airports. The Yotel units are a cross between those tiny cubicles popular in high-rent Japanese cities and international airlines’ first-class suites. The windowless “cabins” cost about $50 for a four-hour block, with hourly extensions available. Overnight stays start at about $110. They feature a double or single bed, a port for an iPod or other MP3 player, a flat-screen LCD TV, free Internet access, on-demand movies and a luxury bathroom. Plans are in the works to roll out the Yotel concept around the world. For more information, visit yotel.com.yotel.com. A double bed in the Yotel premium cabin transforms to a sofa with the touch of a button.
