Airport gets new Asian restaurant, other food options
Travelers at San Diego International Airport have a new upscale dining option with the opening of Yan Can, a pan-Asian restaurant developed with renowned chef Martin Yan. It’s the first airport restaurant for Yan, whose Asian cuisine empire Yan Can Cook has put out 28 cookbooks, designed kitchen tools and created culinary tours in addition to running a string of restaurants. The new facility at SAN is located pre-security in Terminal 1. Yan Can is one of several new food and beverage options coming to the airport this year, according to HMSHost Corp., which handles concessions in the terminals. Flyers can also expect to see a new Brioche Doree Café & Bakery in Terminal 1; a Chili’s Too in the Terminal 1 food court; a Quiznos in Terminal 1’s east rotunda; and a Starbucks in Terminal 2 East.
