Web site offers bird’s-eye views

Would your game be helped by a good aerial view of those 18 holes? You can look down at more than 5,000 golf courses across the U.S. at golfflyover.com, which provides virtual flyovers showing every hole on the course as if you were riding in a helicopter. You can even stop at each tee, fairway and green for a closer look. Viewing the distance and layout can help you plan your shots before stepping foot on the greens, the company says. This free service requires no membership or signups, but you must download and install Google Earth (earth.google.com/index.html) for proper viewing. The site also enables golfers to request course flyovers that are not currently featured, along with email alerts when new courses are added. The company anticipates completing access to all 18,000 U.S. golf courses this year and creating international golf course flyovers next year.
