Skybus adds new routes, frequencies
Columbus-based Skybus, the low-cost airline that promises a few $10 fares on every flight, plans its next wave of expansion in late winter, adding four new non-stop routes to its network and adding frequencies on four others. Skybus frequently uses outlying airports that are a fair drive from a major city. From its Columbus home base, Skybus will begin service to Toronto April 1 (81 miles from Toronto) and to Wilmington, Del. March 7 (35 miles from Philadelphia). From its new focus city of Greensboro, N.C., Skybus will launch new service March 13 to Gary, Indiana (25 miles from Chicago) and to Wilmington, Del. On existing routes from Columbus, the airline will add a second daily flight to Hartford/Springfield and to Richmond March 7, and a second flight to Milwaukee April 1. From Greensboro, Skybus will add a second daily Ft. Lauderdale flight March 13.
