Program won't have any blackout dates
Starwood Hotels has unveiled a new benefit for members of its Starwood Preferred Guest program: The ability to book and pay for airline flights with Starpoints – and with no blackout dates. The program includes a large number of domestic and international airlines, and the ticket price in Starpoints includes all taxes and booking fees, the company said. “Members may even earn airline miles when booking airfare through SPG Flights,” a spokesman said. The cost in points varies by ticket price, from 10,000 points for a ticket valued at up to $150, to 75,000 points for a $930 to $995 ticket. Higher-priced tickets are also available, like 235,000 points for a ticket valued at $2,880 to $3,140. For details, go to www.spg.com/flights. Starwood Preferred Guest members earn two points for each dollar spent at a Starwood hotel, and also earn points for all spending on the Starwood Preferred Guest credit card by American Express.
