Also delays O'Hare service

The new premium economy option that Virgin America announced several months ago is ready to go, and is available on the airline’s flights starting November 3. Virgin America calls the new product Main Cabin Select; it offers 38-inch pitch in exit row and bulkhead seats, as well as perks like free in-flight entertainment and food. In other developments, Virgin America has also introduced fully refundable fares, although they are only available by calling the airline’s telephone reservations line at 877-359-8474. The Main Cabin Select seats can be booked by phone or through the web site (www.virginamerica.com). The airline had announced several months ago that it planned to begin service at Chicago O’Hare this fall, flying to both San Francisco and Los Angeles – routes dominated by United and American – but according to press reports, Virgin America is now putting off O’Hare service until early next year, claiming that it has had trouble securing gate space at the Chicago airport.
