What to see and do: Calgary
city guides

The concierge says...
Taylor Beamish, a concierge at the art-filled Hyatt Regency Calgary, sends diners to elegant Teatro, the Tangerine Supper Club or the Belvedere, with its swanky, New York-style ambiance; with a stop first for cocktails at mod Velvet in the newly restored Grand Theatre.
For thrill seekers, Beamish recommends the panoramic views—and a brush with vertigo—on the glass floor of the 626-foot (190-m) Calgary Tower, or the fast vertical drop down the new Skyline zip line at Canada Olympic Park.
Fashionistas should head to Holt Renfrew downtown, or stroll the equally stylish 17th Avenue. If you have a free day, Beamish says a road trip to Banff is a must.
