I was troubled to read of the recent Jet Blue issue re: passengers being held for 10 hours in the plane. Last week I was delayed for 11 hours at Heathrow because we could not pull to our gate for one hour caused me to miss my flight to Mumbai. Who is responsible for any of these airport delays? Ms Libert's response on the Newshour tonight sounded weak to me. It does me no good to hear that people will choose the airlines that provides the best service when I'm already on the airline that is holding me. The industry must upgrade their standards. At no time should people be held on a plane more than two hours (not three hours). I don't want to learn after years of these kind of issues, that the airline I chose is among the poorest at customer service. Let's get going to correct this.

Janet: you do your magazine a great injustice by appearing on national television. Please, if you must act as a shill for the airlines, don’t present yourself as an objective expert on the travel industry. Your defending jetBlue for their operational breakdown that resulted in imprisoning travelers was shameful…

I saw Janet's interview with Matt Lauer of the Today show regarding passengers being held for 9 hours in a Jet Blue plane on the tarmac. I can only hope she is receiving serious kickbacks from the airline industry as it is difficult to believe anyone could otherwise be so uninformed and out of touch. For her to attempt to justify Jet Blue holding passengers for upward of 9 hours, many against their will, as the airlines doing the best they can, and not trying to lose their place in line to take off, is moronic at best. If it was Janet stuck on that plane amidst screaming kids and overflowing bathrooms I have to believe she would feel different. Janet, wake up and stop trying to defend an industry that needs revamping.

Very impressive that someone who travels so much is able to oversee both this publication and SkyGuide (which I couldn't live without) as well as launch a great new site. You're an inspiration to the rest of us who need to manage the office and travel at the same time! Always interesting to hear where you've been and see your tips. Looking forward to exploring new places in 2007. Best of luck.

My favorite city to entertain clients is New York City. Lots of variety and as my home port I have more insight into what will be most appealing and enjoyable to my guests.

Janet - I assume that you travel quite a bit. Will you be sharing your travel itinerary and experiences as part of this new site? I think it would be interesting to hear from you about where you are, what you're doing and what you're seeing out there.

I travel alot but probably not as much as many of our readers and site users. I travel about 150,000 airline miles per year. LGA is the New York City airport I use most frequently. A quick tip about LGA. There are usually two taxi stands per terminal so search out the stand around the corner to your right when you exit the terminal. Always less of a line.
