WiFi in Washington
Washington D.C. airports inaugurate WiFi service
The Metropolitan Washington (D.C.) Airports Authority said it has introduced wireless Internet access throughout the terminals at both Reagan National and Dulles airports. According to the announcement, “Subscribers to major national wireless Internet providers can easily reach the Internet after clicking on their computer’s Internet browser icon. All others will see a WiFi introduction ‘splash’ page which guides them through the login process and connection fees,” about $9 a day. Connection fees for others will vary depending on their service providers. That splash page also includes free links to Airports Authority pages where users can check flight status and get airport information. The Airports Authority said cell phone service in the airports has also improved, since it now uses a new system in the airports’ public areas instead of relying on the off-airport cellular towers used previously.
