Wireless data plans: What they cost
WIFI PLANS BY CARRIER
Every cell phone carrier offers numerous ways to get a data connection, either with your phone or a laptop. Here’s how each carrier’s plan breaks down and what you should expect to pay. Note that all require long-term contracts and do not include international service. Services like BlackBerry push email cost extra. --C.N. AT&T: Add data to a phone or BlackBerry for $30 per month. Unlimited laptop data use runs $60 per month.
Sprint: Data packages start at just $15 per month for Sprint phones ($10 for Nextel phones). Unlimited laptop data is $60 per month.
T-Mobile: Add Web access to a phone or BlackBerry for $40 per month, or to a laptop for $50 per month. Sidekicks get a better deal, with a $30-per-month plan.
Verizon: Data packages cost $15 and up per month for cell phones. Laptop users pay $60 per month for unlimited data service.
