Fess Parker Wine Country Inn & Spa
Los Olivos, California
This small hotel outside Santa Barbara—started by the eponymous late actor famous for portraying Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone—has never used key cards. With its latest renovation, the hotel rolled out a new fob for its old-school metal keys: a piece of a wine barrel, similar to the recycled wood used in the lobby’s flooring. One side of each key fob features the etched room number; the other has a picture of the resort’s coonskin-cap logo.
